help picking a new PSU

Looks good for the price, it's no power house but it would get the job done. Unless you had some demanding hardware, such as a PCIe graphics card with a power connection.

Here are my specs:

1GB RAM (512 X 2)
intel celeron 2.4ghz CPU (I know it sucks)
A 160GB WD Hard drive
One DVD+RW and a CD-ROM drive
and a nvidia 6800XT AGP
I hope to be adding a 320GB SATA Hard drive soon.

thanks for all the help

not that ive hear of are you saying thered be 2 power cords coming from the comp one from the psu and oen from the vid card?

The psu will provide provide power to the rest of the computer but not the video card..
The video card gets it from a small psu drive that powers the card...

The unit would suffice, albeit barely. I would certainly not recommend it, it's a rebadged HEC 300W unit, and that's all the power it can provide. DFI use this series as an example of what not to buy. Take a look at PSU101 for some recommendations. What's your budget?

They're really only designed for high-end setups. In this case, one of these units would cost more than the PSU in question.

Yea I would go with with a dual rail at least. Amperage in his case isn't as important as stability and efficiency which no one should compromise.

@ newegg.com look for one of these

fortron 450 watt PSU for $51.50

Antec SP-500 for $58.00

either one of these will smoke the one you have chosen !
