Help picking out laptop?

hey guys I wanted to buy a simple microsoft laptop for school work. Would like it to have touch screen, be easy to carry around, wifi, long battery life, smooth enough speed for general internet browsing, and not cost a whole lot. The cheaper the better... thinking <$500. The ones that flip into a tablet would be really convenient, but not absolutely necessary(i don't know a lot about them).

It's a gift for someone and i want to make sure i get something decent lol, if you guys could help me pick out a reliable laptop i'd greatly appreciate it!

Looks nice enough, can't seem to find many reviews on its reliability though, anyone have input on it?

Also my budget has increased by $200 so i could get away with about a max of $800. An SSD would be really nice, along with reliable wifi, long battery, and hdmi(along with everything else i mentioned in my first post). The tablet/laptop versions would be helpful as well, but the ones i have come across seem to get mixed reviews?.
