I bought a Pioneer DVR-108 AXL and 10 pieces Piodata DVD-R discs and it works pretty well.

Recently I bought 10 pieces Piodata DVD+R disc. I met problem in burning them.

a. When I inserted the disc into 108 AXL, in windows explorer, logo of the DVD driver changed from "DVD-RW driver (D:)" to "CD driver(D:)";

b. I still can use Nero to burn DVD+R. I can also tell from Neroinfo that the original disc I inserted is blank DVD+R. After I burned a video on the disc, Neroinfo shows it is a Nero burnt DVD with 3.8G content. But in windows "My Computer", it still shows "CD Driver(D:)". When I click the D:, the content in the disc can't be showed. I can't play the DVD by WMP, either.

I thought the problem might be caused by my WindowsXP doesn't compatible for my DVR 108 DVD RW drivers. How can I solve the problem?

Information of my computer software system:

Windows XP SP2

DVR-108 driver provider: Microsoft
driver date: 2001-7-1
driver version: 5.1.2535.0

DVR-108 firmware version: 1.20
firmware date: 05-04-25

I scrapped my DVD-RW installation disc after I installed it. Since my WinXP can tell the RW, I never used driver installation disc in the package(if there is one).

Anyone can help me solve the problem? Thanks in advance!

Try flashing the drive

Try to upgrade the firmware (although I see yours is very recent). Have you tried burning on other DVD+Rs? Otherwise I really do not know what the problem could be.

Thanks!

I upgraded firmware just before I submit this thread. It didn't work.

I will try some other +R discs.
