HELP PLeae!! NO MOUSE OR KEYBOARD AT START UP. CAN'T LOG IN

Hey i can't log into windows becuase the mouse and keyboard is not detected. I ran linux and the onboard keyboard and mouse worked. I n windows i used a usb mouse and still did not work. I hasve dell laptop. This just started. I restarted and everything was fine, now this. It is a latitude 110L. never had this happedn before. So i have win-pro and i can't login b/c the computer thinks there is no keyboard or mouse. HELP!!! I NEED TO FIX THIS ASAP!!!!!

Still having the problum. I think it is windows but when i turn it on in the BIOS this white screen comes up saying that some hardware is not connect, press esc to restart enter to comtinue. but dispite this it still works under linux

There are PS/2 and USB converter cable. Selling at Singapore $12.00. Your area i don't know how much. Use this cable converter and everything should be fine. Maybe your USB is 1.0 and that USB mouse and keyboard is USB 2.0? Did you check?
