Help Please.. Boot Looping

Well. i think i might have downloaded a virus and whenever i load into windows it just reboots. any suggestions?

EDIT: scanning computer with avast now and anti malware bites after. i doubt thats going to solve it but i can hope right? If i dont find anything with either im going to system restore. is that going to solve it?

Lets first make sure you don't have errors on the hard drive. Go back to the other thread and then we'll come back here if need be.
 
Why don't you scan it externally, then run a chkdsk repair from the cd. Put it in safe mode run a scan using malwarebytes, then put it in normal mode runnning malwarebytes again. You'll probably have run dll errors but you can fix those. Just a suggestion I guess john b is the expert though.
 
i just system restored. hard drive came up clean. if this doesnt work its a format because i dont know what else to do. yup. system restored, windows booted into just a black screen. i control alt deleted and shut it down.. this is really pissing me off..

You put in an xp cd and boot to that. Then go to recovery console and type /fixboot & /fixmbr.

This always solves my boot-loops.
