Guys,

which do you think is better ..

The choice is down to this 2:

Toshiba Satellite A50-Campus (offer in my campus) // Acer TravelMate 4001WLMI
Intel Centrino Dothan Pentium M 1.5 GHz // the same
512 MB DDR RAM // the same
HD 40 Gb // 60 GB
TFT 15" // Wide Screen 15'4"
Intel 855GME 64 MB DDR RAM // Ati Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB
DVD RW // the same
Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 // the same
Windows XP Home Edition // the same
Wireless LAN b/g // the same
2,7Kg. // 2,9kg (without battery)

PRICE: both has the same price.

I'm a Graduate student .. I will bring this laptop to campus, but there's not much different in weight, so I think the mobility is not much different.
Maybe the problem is only the brand. IMHO, ACER is not as good as Toshiba (CMIIW). But in this case Acer has greater spec than Toshiba (the HardDrive, wide screen, and graphic card). Why not Toshiba with greater spec? because my budget is limited, around 1100€.

I need your opinion.

Oh yes another thing is that I don't play a lot of PC Game, but I like playing 'counter strike' very much and some FIFA or NBA Live. Btw, can we play 'The SIMS 2' in a laptop with integrated graphic cards? (e.g. intel 64 MB)

You might be able to play a high graphics game on an integratd card for a little, but you won't be able to upgrade your video card to keep up with the industry. Integrated won't be as powerful.

Like I've said earlier, that my budget is around 1100€ maybe 1200€ is still acceptable.
At first, I want to buy a lighter laptop (< 2kg, usually 12" screen) because I don't have a car and maybe I need to bring it everywhere. But all of that light laptop usually are over than 1500€ and over. So it's a lot more than my budget.
So then I found these two choices for 1100€.

Brands dont matter all that much ... its the hardware you're lookin to buy, not that sticker on the laptop :)

Thats what I keep telling my wife, but she still wants the Dell! :rolleyes:
 
Well the one Dell Dimension XPS laptop certainly kicks ass and takes names :P Of coruse thats outside of damn near everyone's budget too :P
