HELP PLEASE Secured Files

Okay so I have been working on a computer for someone with very sensitive data. Its all windows password protected the normal way anyone has a password on windows xp pro. So I tried to repair the computer I tried a restore and I tried a few other things as well. The computer still boots up and it goes into windows than it turns into the old look mode and than shuts down.

So I have decided the best way to get the files is to put the drive as a slave on another computer and backup the files that way. But how can I do it from what I remember it tells you that you do not have the privileges to access these files or something like that. What can I do to get these files unlocked and back uped?
 
Do you have a flash/thumb drive by chance? That might be a very easy to way to transfer your files :)

Try that and let me know if it works!
 
I don't think that will work he has a on of files and plus it has to be a slave in a computer in order to even access the files BUT it will not let me access them or copy and paste them. PLEASE THERE HAS TO BE A WAY. Like I have the password if that helps.
