Help Please W/ Ram :)

2GB of PC800 would be fine assuming you have a non-funny A64 4GB if you want extra RAM (or want to have lots for vista).

I don't even have to go to the link to see that the 2x2gb dimms setup would be the best performance with the 4x2gb having the largest total and the 4x1gb being the faster designed memoy while maybe not seeing the performance due to memory holes when data jumps from one dimm to the next. A pair of DDR2(standard) 800mhz 2gb dimms would be ideal.

alright, someone configure the best setup of just ram for the motherboard for me please... and why would u get DDR2800 over 1000????

oh and it should be good for running vista to...

The motherboard supports a max of DDR2 800.

DDR2 800 = standard voltage/decent timings.
DDR2 1000 = higher timings (not that much to worry about) + voltage bump

By loosening the timings of DDR2 800 and bumping the voltage you can magically get DDR2 1000

alright, this is what i would like, someone tell me exactly what is the ultimate RAM setup with that motherboard and give me a link to the type of ram the perosn would get...

I would go with 4 2GB rams sticks. I dont think the 4 1gbs would be worth it even at ddr2 1000. I doubt you would even notice the difference in speeds.

You think he should get 8GB of RAM. That would be quite a slow down, and incredibly pointless. Not alone quite expensive. I dont think he is running a server.

That will depend if Encore4More plans on running large CAD or other types of engineering applications. When the dimms are filled there are often performance problems seen as far as gaming is concerned. The term "memory hole" seems to apply there when those develop as data fills one dimms and stretches to another. The expense for a pair of 2gb dimms will about equal the cost of the board. But that would enable dual channel mode with 2gb seen on the secondary as well as the primary channel.
