Hi, i have a windows xp professional custom built computer: p4 2.4 processor, no o.c., 1 gig of ram,MSI pm8m-v mobo, samsung 40gb hdd, dvd burner, both eide, and a floppy drive. in early january 08-late december 07, i discovered we had 768 mb ram, but the 256mb turned out to be defective, so i replaced it with another 512mb. about a month ago, it started randomly shutting down, then it would take up to 15+- times to get to the desktop. I've heard it's the power supply, mobo, processor, os, or new ram. if anyone has any available help, please do so! Thank you!

Just gonna mention it but thats a rather tiny HDD. :P (Not the problem)

-How many Watts is your PSU?

I really have no idea, but i might be able to open 'er up, and look up a model number on the 'net.

Make sure u have adleast 300W power supply. Try taking out the 512/256 m modules and see what happens.
