help please

i downloaded a .dmg file which i found out was a mac's version of .iso or something.

i tried a bunch of programs to try and convert it like magic iso which said the file was too large. i also tried dmg2iso but it wouldnt open in vista.

so i right clicked the .dmg file and renamed the .dmg to .iso hoping it would work, however it didnt haha, all it did was make the computer think its a .iso but really it isnt and now i can't get i back to .dmg if i rename it that, it just adds .dmg to the end of it, but it still is .iso

can anyone help me?
 
well i figured out how to change the extension, i had to go to the top of the folder, and go to tools/folder options, and go to view, then have the "show the full path in the title bar" and then i could just right click it again and rename the end to .dmg.

now can anyone give me any other help for actually converting it to an .iso. it is a 6.91 gb file so magic iso says its too large.
 
i tried it by going to run, entering "cmd" pressing enter, putting the .dmg file and the dmg2img file in C:.

in cmd i entered cd.. and cd.. again so that it runs from just C: to make it easier, i then entered dmg2img.exe filename.dmg filename.iso

the first file name i changed to the actual name of the .dmg file and i left the second file name alone as it is creating a new file and that file will be named filename.iso

however this didnt work, it said that the .dmg file was currupted and created an empty .iso image file.
