help please

Hi there,

I just want to say thanks and I appreciate help from anyone. Here is some history. I just started my first I.T job today. Pc support analyst and I'm sooooo nervous...feels like my heart is pounding out of my chest. I do have an understanding about computers and networking..routers, dns, switches..I taught myself and have a little domain at home. Anyway..I just think everyone knows so much more than me...maybe its just me thinking that..but I can't help it. Anyway...they sent me this laptop to throw an image on and then put drivers on it that is needed...So I went into device manager to see what is needed.They went to hp site and got all the drivers that I needed..except the ethernet driver. In device manager the ethernet driver is not under network icon..its under OTHERS..icon. and I need ethernet that is NOT wireless...How do I get the driver for that..Its an hp computer model dv2000..I feel so stupid if I say to them that I can't install this driver.

anyone ever feel like this before....thanks everyone..

What OS are you running? Is there a, t or z at the end of the model number?

no t or z at the end of the model number and its vista enterprise

Vista 64 bit or 32 bit, all they show for vista is the Intel Pro/Wireless

Hi...its 32 bit...thats why im confuse...it doesn't give an ethernet driver that isn't wireless...its wierd. It should have it cause there is an rj45 connection..I sure wish I find an answer for this..
