Help PLEASE?

Hey everyone,

My parents recently installed a software called "Net Nanny" on my computer. It limits my time on the computer to one hour a day. I don't think this is sufficient, but knowing my parents, they just don't listen.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone knew how I could get past it. Would it be possible to keylog my own computer and get their administrator password?

People spend too much time on the computer(myself included) If you want to get more time that bad, talk with them some more. Otherwise, I think they are doing the right thing. Now stop complaining and find something constructive to do :P

One hour does seem a tad bit short, but you really shouldn't get all caught up on the computer... Ugh, I feel like a smoker talking about how unheathy smoking is :rolleyes:
 
hmmm, such intentions, not sure if thats allowed. Your best off speaking with your parents, im sure you could come to a compromise. This isnt a hacking forum so we cant really do much to help you in that area.

Edit: I just saw the_other_ones post show up, but yeah, heck i spend 8 hours in front of the computer cuase thats my job, but trust me, id rather just spend and hour or so.

spending too much time on a computer isnt that bad of a thing ;) its very educational (if you use it in that kinda way)
 
Hmm i would recommend like the other members that you reach an agreement with your parents, especially as you are going against their wishes
Keyloggers are an option but i would definately not recommend it as your parents will find out about your plans to avoid the limits that they have set for you

I myself am only 13 years old but i know how to get my way ;) With or without an agreement that is for me to know and you not to find out :D

does it limit the time on the computer or just on the internet. If you like computers so much maybe you should learn other skills on them other than surfing. Try learning c, or php or one on the many other scritping / programming langauges.
Heck you may even get good enough to answer your own questions.
One thing i can tell you is that you will not get the answer here, but i can point you in the direction of a place that will help click here
 
He needs to find another source for his question. I think his parents have a reason for doing what they do, but if you do a search for key loggers and your parents find out by searching the history. O BTW before you say you cleared it here's one of the features of the software you're trying to by pass. I got this straight from Net Nanny's web site:
"restrict access to applications you know about or do not know about.


  • Block access to chat and instant messaging, one of the most effective ways to stop sexual predators.
  • Block access to Internet games and newsgroups, to prevent children from participating in inappropriate discussions and playing violent or addictive games.

I think you have to be in the admin account, but a system restore would work...that's what i did:P (i installed net nanny on my self and didn't know what the pasword was :P, then i changed my mind on net nanny.)
