help please....ive just been told i can keep my old laptop from work as we getting new ones. It is a Toshiba tablet. I use my work login to access the laptop but only have restricted rights....

Im not sure who to ask at work to sort this out....but can i some how reboot the computer...re install the o.s or something....completely wip the hardisk and start from new an just use it as a normal comp.... please advise!

yes you can, you need an OS cd and then you put it in the cd drive, reboot and follow the instructions

You may need to set the boot order to allow the CDROM to be the first device to be checked for bootup. When you get all your stuff together, have a look at http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp

your best bet is to contact toshiba and get the restore cd specific to the model.

I have brought a new cd-rw external drive to boot the xp off from. I have changed the BIOS properties to boot from cd-rom first, no luck. a message about lan adapter not workin appears. Have i wasted my money

so your laptop does not have a cd drive?
