Hello All;
I think this sounds a bit like a virus hope maybe someone has seen these issues before.
My mate phoned me up told me his computer gone all funny quote "i have lost my screen resolution and can,t connect to the internet no 32 bit only 16 bit screen colours.
Mates Comp windows millieum amd 1000 (old thing) compaq
True everything he said was correct but not only that he has also lost his removable drive cd rom dvd rom and floppy disk.
What i done tried tried too use system restore (no good)
Manually configure internet connection (no good)
Lucky enough the last time i was at his computer i had made a backup of his registry about 3 months ago and saved it on his desktop.Doubleclicked on this too restore the registry too now all i had too was reboot
Happy Days was able too connect too the internet download and update the graphics driver
But: all except his drives where still not visible
Check the bios and the start up was listed here
Check Device manager gave error drivers needed updated tried but came back these where the most uptodate drivers installed.
Has anyone any ideas on how too resolve this apart from reformatting the drive.
Oh also ran McAfee free scan nothing detected.
