Help! Problem with new computer

Just built a computer with these parts:

Asus K8V SE Deluxe
Athlon 64 3400+
1gb Kingston PC3200 RAM
1 80gb 7200rpm WD HD
1 160gb 7200rpm ED HD
Radeon 64mb Video Card

It started up fine and after formatting the HD with NTFS it started checking both drives and froze. We were forced to turn it off. We then were unable to turn it back on. The motherboard light shows that there is power going to it, but nothing else works. Does anyone know what the problem could be????

Wait so refresh me, what is NTFS? And So the computer booted up perfectly fine and everything untill you had to force power it down, and now it wont turn back on? Well if the light is working on the motherboard, no problem there (lets hope so :)) I'm slightly confused on what happened..
