hey there,

Hi my name is Isaias I'm new to the forum and there is one thing I have found out is that the best place to gett info on technology is on forums and NOT with the BestBuy sales person.

Now at this moment I'm trying to purchase a new Desktop, before anybody starts flaming me YES I read the Stickys, Now what I need is some help finding the Desktop that better fits my needs and wallet.

Here are the things I will be doing and I need.
- My budget is $800.00 - $950.00
- Working with Photoshop
- Working with Video Editing Programs
- Mostly playing games on STEAM and Warcraft
- Re-capture my music collection wich at a moment was at 10,000 songs

thank you all for your help.

Isaias.

I don't think its the sticky's thats a problem, its the fact that you are asking questions about a notebook in the desktop section... :D

Try the notebook section and you might get a better response (BTW, today is my first day on the forum too). Welcome!

No problemo, just didn't want you to post and wait for no response only to be told later that you were in the wrong area.

Anyway, these guys here seem to know there stuff and should have something for you shortly...although you may get a few different ideas.

Mike

Here are some key parts you might want to get in a pre built or build it yourself computer.

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory - 1gb or more
Hard Drive - maybe anything bigger then a 320gb
Graphic Card - If you can, get a Dx10 card, if not, get a good Dx9 card.

Post back if you have any questions.

Ok people while looking at this site this something I found.

No good you could build that for like 800
He is right you could make that for way cheap. I made my comp for around $700. I compare all my prices to http://newegg.com. Next i look on Ebay for maybe even lower prices from trusted sellers. Then I write everything down with the prices and add it all up. I have an oced e6400, with a 7900gtx, 400gb hd, 2gb ram, 700w psu, audigy sound card, dvd and cd burner, and a crap load of fans. Just compare and you'll find great parts for cheap.

Cheaper??
I love DX10 card as well.

But I can't understand the reasons of using S3 ($105), instead of DS3 rev.1.3 ($99)
Also, I will choose Vista than XP.
And I am not saying the case is bad, but is a bit expensive

heythanks for all your help I will stick to XP for the moment cuz VISTA still has many glitches and plus I can gett VISTA for free in the future as I do with many other programs I have!

ok people here is an update on my situation. Yesterday they offered me this but I decided not to purchase it because I thought it was to much.

HP Compaq Presario
AMD Athlon 64 Proccessor 3800+
2.4 GHz 960 MB of RAM
200 GB
DVD+R/RW
XP Windows Media
Compaq Presario sr201cl

Do you people think I did correct by not purchasing this?
