I need help on setting up our printer at home. I want it to be a universal printer for everyone to use it at home. And i want it to print without hooking it up to the computer. I know this is done via wireless network. I have a wireless network so if anyone knows the steps to do this, please do tell. Thanks!

By the way my printer is a Canon Pixma iP200.

To Wireless network a Printer it must have Wireless capabilities, I looked up your printer and it does not seem to have these :(

You will need to buy a Wireless enabled Printer for this to work.
Sorry to burst your bubble dude :(

even though it's connected to one computer(my computer). and all the other computers are in the network, still wont work?

It wont work wirelessy, but if the computer you have plugged it into is networked then you can get it to work through the computer, but this must be on for anyone to use the printer.

on one of the other computers in your house go int My Network Places, click on The Computer with the printer installed, there should be a folder called printers, you should be able to connect to the printer from that foler there.

To share a printer that is connected to one of the computers you need to enable file and printer sharing, then you can right click on the printer and select share this printer.

the other option you have to to buy a printer server for around $40 us, this will allow you to connect the printer to a router and share it
or for a bit more money you can get a wireless print server.

ah i took this to mean without the printer being attached to any computer....ever....hence my suggestion of a printer server

the printer server was also on my mind but i don't want to spend $40. this'll do for now. i was staying with my relatives in virgina for a week and their printer wasn't attached to any computer. it was in a closet with all my uncles amps, hd-dvd players etc... lol! thanks for the help guys!
