Help setting up Wireless password

Hello

I have bought this device from Sweden to get stronger signal to my wireless.
Palm Wireless USB Adapter 500mW

At the other end i got an D-Link DGL-4300, signal does get a lot stronger. But i have a serious security issue because i don't know how to setup password in my dgl-4300. I can reach my neighbor wireless also, but he have password on his wireless network.

I don't want my neighbor to access my network, HELP.

you access the router : mine is a 3com. my addy for access is 192.168.1.1
there i can turn on encryption. wpa is better but wep to me works fine. for the wireless network i can authorize mac address also. you can get the mac for the computer at the dos prompt. 'getmac' or type ipconfig/all . the physical address is the mac. make sure ya have a strong password to access the router. put one in if you did not.

Open up your webbrowser on a computer connected to the D-Link router. Type http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, Now a password box should pop up type in Username:admin Password:<BLANK>. Once your in that site there shoiuld be a tabs omewhere to turn on WAP. MAKE SURE YOU WRITE THE KEY DOWN. hit save. reconnect to the router type in the WAP key and you should be good.

Avoid WEP encryption at all costs. It is no good. WPA with a very strong key (a weak key is easily broken) is minimum.

MAC address filtering wont increase your security any further.
