Help Setting Up Wireless

i have been given a windows 2000 professionol SP4 notebook and would like to connect it up to are main internet connnection we have a netgear wireless router, the hardware i have got with it is a 802.11g wireless cardbus adapter by Micra Digital, ive installed the software and the adaptor and it picks up are network but when you click onto internet explorer it still wont display webpages it just says page cannot be found

any ideas

Well not sure if this is going to help you, much easier to diagnose these things in person lol...but...

If you know all your settings are correct and that you know the password to the network, then I would check to see if the encryption for the router and network isnt WPA2. I learned that lesson half a year ago with a pc that only had XP SP1. The wpa fix wasnt implimented in the blan sp1 version of xp i was using. You can download a fix at microsofts website, or update to sp2. Not sure if the hotfix works for windows 2000 though. If not, then I would change the encryption method of the router to something other than wpa.
