Hey,
When I plug the Molex cable that goes from the PSU to the motherboard will not turn on, but when I don't plug it into the motherboard it will work just fine. I have 4 case fans plugged into the cable and I have tried only have 1 plugged in it still fails. So can anybody tell me why this is happening.

What is the make and model of your power supply? Are you talking about the 24pin big cable or the 4/8 pin cpu power cable? Is this a new build?

Its a corsair cxm series cx600m 600w and its not the 24pin or the 4/8 pin cpu power cable. Its the molex cable that the fans are plugged into.

You said to the motherboard so thats why I asked. Molex doesn't get connected to the motherboard. Have you tried using a different connector? Need to determine if its that fans that are bad or the connector.

There is a 3 or 4 pin connecter on the end of the molex cable that I thought get plugged into one of the sys_fan connecters.

No, it doesn't get connected to motherboard. It's for a floppy drive which is no longer used for the most part.
