Help - unhide hidden partition - SecureDriveEX

Hey folks,

My boss has an external HDD from Prestigio, which came with a software called SecureDriveEX.

He made most of his HDD private, which means that without the software it is not readable.
The problem is that he had to format his PC, and now when he wants to access the files in the private partition the SecureDriveEX software asks him to format first.

I've tried to get to the hidden partition with partition magic, although i am not sure whether it is a hidden partition or encrypted as well.

I was wondering whether if i format the HDD and then use GetDataBack to just restore the files would work? but i am worried about taking the risk since the files are VERY important.

I would be most thankful for any help regarding this issue.

i doubt that the formating and recovery will hardly help you, and maybe you end up having nothing in your hand,
what i suggest to reinstall the SecureDriveEX and then try re-access the hidden drive with whatever password you had at that time, if it does not work out contact the customer care and seek for help, if the data is very sensitive.
 
I tried reinstalling the software and access the hard drive but i have the feeling that the hidden part is encrypted and that the encryption is based on my boss's laptop. But it is not possible to access it either from that laptop as it has been formatted and the software recognizes it as a different computer. Is that possible?

We contacted customer service already, they told us we have to come to the service center (which is located in Europe) we are in Hong Kong though and feel unsafe sending the disk as the content of it is very important.

Is there no software with which i could basically hack into the hard disk?
 
well encryption does not depend on the system but depends on the software, and as far as hacking is concerned and , see in the forum rules its a strictly prohibited word and topic to be discussed, and you may be banned for posting stuff like that.
can you provide us with more details like the screen shots and all.
 
sure, will get screenshots up tomorrow as i am on my way out now.
About the hacking part, my bad then, sorry. Thought that there might be a tolerance as this is not to harm/steal, but in a do good way.
