So i have this cpu:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (Build 7600) HP-Pavilion
System Model: p6310y
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
PSU: 300W
GPU: Nvidia 9100 Integrated Card
Monitor: Vison Max. Res. 1280-1024
i just buy it for $429
its a great computer from my point of view but.. i was really disappointed with the gaming performance so i want to upgrade it.

i have a $250 budget for upgrading my GPU and/or PSU.
the thing is i dont know what to buy.
i was going for an ATI Radeon 4870, but some say my psu cant handle it.

any help is appreciated.

You would definately need a new power supply. Something like this.

The 768MB version, about the same performance (generally) as a 5830. Still beats the 4870.

well i know people who has that kind of video cards and they run really smoth on today's games, i'll think i will go a little further above my budget and get the ATI Radeon 5850.

the only thing i'm having trouble with is that, will it fit in my CPU?
thats why they recommend me the 4870, because its not too big and it only use's one slot.

any advise is really appreciated.
