Would it make any difference if i upgrade my system to i7-2600k. Current system is on my sig. The games i will be playing is cs-source plus the new cs-go and mw2.

You cannot upgrade to that CPU without a new motherboard (LGA1155) and ram (DDR3). But yes it would make a significant difference.

Now the i5-2500k is 100usd cheaper than 2600k how much decrease will it be if i buy 2500k instead of 2600k? Also they said Intel could have another cpu on the way and if so prices will drop....anyone know when will the price drop for sandy bridge cpus?

get a z68 board and a a 2500k. That way you have a little more umph in your graphics area and you can overclock the 2500k really high if you need to. Also it will give you a little more room to play games that are more intensive the cs and mw2. Thats what i did anyways....

really the gpu is your weakest link, that cpu is fast enough to play any game out, although an upgrade might not be a bad idea, but since that is good enough, i'd wait for ivy and bull to be out, then upgrade the mobo, cpu, most likely ram too, and a new gpu might be a good idea too.

I want to upgrade my cpu mobo and ram right now. But I need to know when will Intel prices drop? Or Is it better to buy now than later? Will Intel price go down?

amd's releasing a new cpu and discontinuing olds, so theirs might go down some, and for a budget they are the best, while in the first half of next year intel is releasing the lga1155 (sandy bridge socket) ivy bridge cpu, which should be marginally faster since it will be a 22nm cpu instead of current 32nm, and the current cpus should go down some, but prob not much.

i wouldn't say it will, but they'll prob drop the i5's and i7's a couple bucks, i3 will prob stay at 125 or maybe 120 or so.
