this is the computer im working on.

Couple situations. The power switch is located in the front top of the case with a cord going to the MoBo from the front inside of the case. there are 2 cords going from the mobo to the power supply. is it safe to just unhook all the cords going from the power supply directly and take out the power supply and then put my new one in? the new one has a switch on the back will that interfere with my power switch in the front?

Welcome to the forums :)

Yes, you've got it right...there's no special voodoo ritual or anything. Make sure the computer is off and unplugged, obviously.

The switch on the back is either an on/off switch or a voltage selector. If it's an on/off switch, then yes, it'll need to stay in the on position for the computer to turn on. If it's a little red voltage selector switch, put it on 115/120V. (assuming you're in the USA)

thanks for the help. One problem im having now is getting the psu out of the case. I unscrewed the screws but it seems to be latched on elsewhere inside the case. Any help?

np :)

You got all 4 screws out of the back of the computer? Hmm...

Maybe it's just stuck on something? Sometimes there's a little tab above and/or below the PSU holding it up. Perhaps you could pull it toward the front of the case?

I don't understand why you want this. It's Integrated Graphics anyways.

If it performs well enough, then it doesn't matter what graphics it has, not everyone games, there are people, the vast majority, that don't use their computers for graphically intensive applications. If he is upgrading for gaming, he will need a new PSU to power his video card, if he is upgrading his CPU to something more powerful, and more power hungry, same thing.

@op, there is indeed a latch. A full guide can be found here:

alright so quick update. went to switch out the power supply and for some odd reason im not getting a picture. Onboard card isnt working either. Now it uses a 20 pin connector on the motherboard and a off to the side 4 pin connector. Now the 24 pin motherboard it says to peel away the 4 pin and connect the 20 pin part. Do i attempt to stretch the other part of the motherboard to the 4 pin part? (which wont work unless i cut the wire loose. feedback appreciated
