Help :( urgent

I just got a new computer the specs are

gtx 970
intel i5 4690k
z97 gaming 5
8 gb ram
650 W power supply
and HDD 1tb

Now here is the problem just did a fresh install updated my drivers and everything. But the problem that bothers me is when i open a program it usually takes around 5-8 sec to open with this specs it should be instant. and when i click on windows update it usually freezes for 3-4 sec and windows sometimes acts kind of buggy when opening files and brower. I dont what is wrong pls help

What exact ram and hard drive do you have?

As John said, the speed of the hard drive would help open programs faster.

Maybe run the manufacturers diagnostic on it?

Which specific program? On a mechanical drive that doesn't sound too horrendous.

Yeah, my gaming PC has a 1TB WD Caviar Black mechanical drive and even with my system specs it takes a few seconds for something to open... Doesn't sound too bad!
