I do a lot if gaming,W.D., and photo.... also i will like to try a few 3d movies and games will this do.

personaly, i would get a gtx 570. cheaper than a 6970, equal id say in performance, and you get physx plus better drivers. could sli them later by adding another one since you have an x-58 board
 
What resolution Monitor are you using?

Don't Crossfire 5870's. I have a 5870, I really like it, and there's absolutely no chance I would buy one new. And for crossfire there is even less chance. Save yourself $150(~) and XFire 6870's for better performance before you XFire 5870's.

A 570 would probably be the first card I looked at though if I felt like I needed a higher grade card. I'd expect a $200 6870 would play all of your games though.
