Help wanted for Toshiba Qosmio monitor

The laptop's monitor has a poor connection with the main lapton. First it was flickering but now it lost its light. I mean you can see the screen display but it's extremly dark, having almost no brightness.

So, has anyone any idea? Should I try to fix it myself or sould I try to attend to an expert.
 
When it comes to laptops, unless your skilled in the area of general electronics trying to repair any part of them yourself would probably not end well.

Sounds more to me like the screen is shot anyway which you may or may not be able to find a replacement either way Id invest in a new laptop.
 
Yes I know the lapton hardwere it's kind of "dark area", but what if I just open and adjust the cables? Has anyone any similar experience?

New lapton is not an option here. I haven't paid of this one yet.
