I had a lot of adware on my system and after following the advice on this forum and installing spybot I managed to get rid of most of it. However there was one item that spybot couldn't delete as the program may reside in memory and then asked if it (spybot) could be run on the next computer reboot, I answered yes.
I then reboot my machine and spybot run on reboot but still I had the same adware booting up (Winfixer). Can anyone tell me how to once and for all remove this pesky nuisance from my machine???

Thanks,

You could check and see if the box is checked in MSCONFIG, or press CTRL+ATL+DEL and end the process everytime you boot up.

in some cases, this doesn't work. i've had experience with adware where the program is able to prevent itself from being ended through the taskmanager. my advice is to boot in safe mode and run any anti-spyware software you have. while i'm not entirely sure this will work, i think it may.

Download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

[*]Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.

[*]Click the Scan for Vundo button.

[*]Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.

[*]You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES

[*]Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.

[*]When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.

[*]Turn your computer back on.
