His computer info:

AMD 2800+
1gig ddr
120gig
6600 GT oc

Ever since he bought his new 6600GT oc, he's been having problems. His computer always restarts. He had a 350W with +12V@13A PSU and we thought that was the problem. Today his new PSU came, 450W, +12V@25A and still no sign of correction for the problem. Anyone has any ideas?

There's another thing, he's been using a case fan for his heatsing, and that casefan is bigger than the heatsink with one screw in. I thought it was the cpu fan but the whole computer was fine before he got his 6600 GT OC. Any chance the 6600 GT oc GPU is defective?

there is always a chance, u should probably try replacing the 6600gt with another card so you can see if its video card problem

I'll try a different video card and see if it stops freezing like you said.

But for cleaning the gpu slot and ram slots, what do i do, do i just blow in it?

Still freezin, whenever he goes into a game it freezes. He can do anything on the computer for hours without freezing except playing games. When he goes into a game, the game freezes but not the desktop, when he alt+tab's out of the game to the desktop his whole computer freezes. He is playing WoW, the only thing i can think of is the PSU, but he just got a new PSU +12V@25A. I'm really stumped on this one. The only thing we can think of now is reformatting his computer and hopefully it fixes but i doubt it. If anyone knows......

I've had problems in the past with bad video drivers causing Win to lock up when paging out like that... I would look for an alternate driver.

The temperature is around 57 celcius but when going into games it goes up to around 60-63 celcius, it says that the slowdown is 145 celcius.

WAit, did you or did you not try another graphics card? If you didn't, and this wasn't happned bfore he got the card, then its most likly bad VRAM, send it in for a replacement.

He has the latest drivers and everything.

The other video card works without freezing so i think its something with the video card. So it's bad VRAM?

That would be my guess, just that one part of the ram is bad, and whenever that one part is used then it restarts.

replace one part with the word i cant remember haha. But it has happened to be..three times....all ebay cards, so thats prabally why they were being sold...they are just to mean and put prefect condition anyways.

That would be my guess, it's bad VRAM, and if not something else wrong with the card and the card itsself, but i would still go for vram as first guess. try getting a replacement if you can.
