Hi

Aim:
I'm trying to connect my laptop to the Internet.

I've already got my PC connected to Modem with no problems whatsoever, got internet connection and everything.

I'm able to find and connect to the router via laptop, but unable to access the internet on both laptop and PC.

Action taken:
I connected 1 Ethernet cable from PC to LAN1 on the router and modem to WAN.

Anything else i should check for?

PC = Dell
Laptop = Acer Aspire 8930g
Modem = Motorolla SB4200
Wireless Router = Phillips SNB5600/00

Most routers come with a setup cd, use it to transfer isp settings to router. You also might have to clone the mac address of your modem in order to get internet through router, some isp's require it.

I lost the setup CD, however I've downloaded the software from their website and installed it.

How can I "transfer isp settings to router" and "clone the mac address of my modem in order to get internet through router"?

Each router is different, contact your Internet Service Provider to see if mac address cloning needs to be done. If not, contact router manufacturer to setup your router if the software can't automatically get you online.
