HELP!!!! with connecting to the internet

Thank you AEM for the suggestion, and I appreciate you replying, unfortunitly it did not work. Here is my problem stated again for others:

I have an Acer Travelmate 290 laptop computer. As of about 3 days ago, I cannot connect to the internet. The wifi in the bottom right hand corner says I have a good or excellent connection at home and at work. When I try to connect via eithernet cord, I still cannot get on the internet regardless of where I am. I have Windows XP Professional and my Exployer was a little outdated so I upgraded to Explorer 7. STILL NOTHING. I have tried everything. Any suggestion would be very very helpful. Thank you.

Update the driver for the Wifi and the ethernet

If it doesn't work.... we can try something else.

yeah, same thing happened on my grandmas laptop, it for some reason deleted the drivers for the dialup

Well previously i had a motherboard out of parts that had no drivers so i found them on the net downloaded them put them onto my USB and installed them on the computer. My sister now uses that computer and is on the internet and everything is working fine.

Try resetting your system, maybe it will help...

No that wouldn't help... it's a driver problem...

How long has the OS been installed??? Is it a new computer????
