Help with Dot Matrix Printer

I recently upgraded a computer and I need help with hooking back the printer that it has. The computer is a HP and I've upgraded the Comp to Windows XP Pro. The Dot Matrix printer is a Panasonic KX-P1150. The only reason why I even care about using a Dot Matrix printer is because I print out invoices with it. Windows does have the drivers and I've set the sucker up but the proble that I'am having is that when I print the printing comes out somewhat looking like this &U%###@@**!++++++. In the end I can't find a reason why its doing this but I've tried many things but I might be missing something. For those of you who know what I mean it would be a great thing of someone with the knowledge of why the Dot Matrix printer keeps on printing the way it does.

some sort of data corruption. i know you have to do some setup on the printer if youre using the printer port. i suggest reading the manual if you have one

There also might be a conflict with some other program on your system with the drivers. Re-install the drivers or check to see if there is a newer version that will work better.

I agree with dciscouts. I used to work on them and a lot of times, the ones I worked on (Oki's)had a few different versions of the drivers. I would def. say re-install the drivers. Another possibility is the driver you set is for parallel (if you're using serial) or vice versa
