Help with flashing bios

I have had this computer sitting around a while and want to update the bios. The computer is a Dell Optiplex 745.

No OS installed
Intel Core 2 CPU 2.13 GHz
3 GB DDR@ SDRAM


So I went to dell.com and downloaded the bios update file. It is a .exe file. I am making a bootable CD-R because I have no floppy drive or OS. From what I understand is that I also need a flashing tool file to add to the boot disc. I have no idea where to find who makes the motherboard so I can get flash tool. The bios tells me nothing. Please help! Thanks

step 1: discover if you actually need an update.
-Bios is much like you Liver. Don't transplant for the hell of it, its a dangerous process. If not done properly, you will have a busted system.
Chances are that you don't need the update. If it fixes problems that you have with your system, go ahead, and you will need a flash utility to make it bootable. If you are not having problems currently, do not mess with it.
