hello people, this is my first post,

i purchased a radeon HD 3650 graphics card about a year ago, it was working all fine for about 6 months with my monitor connected to it, then one day the monitor stopped working, so i unplugged it from the graphics card and put the monitor in its normal place in the back of the tower, that fixed the monitor problem, but the graphics card just dont work? the fan keeps going, so its not a power issue, the computer just doesnt register its there, ive been told it might have burnt out the mother board, but i dont think it has as the fan is still spinning away?

any ideas on how to fix this, as i dont want to fork out more money on a new graphics card =/

many thanks in advance, jamie.

It sounds like the graphics card itself has gone out. What motherboard are you using? It sounds like it supports onboard graphics so that is why you are able to hook the monitor up to it and it works.

There was never a problem with the monitor in the first place, but just a problem with the graphics card. So to fix the problem, you'll have to replace your graphics card.
