Hey all, i got a quick question...

I just bought a Geforce GTS 250 and put it in. I took out the other card, like the instructions said, and put in this one. Plugged up the monitor and turned on the computer. My monitor is blank, with a blinking power light. Its almost like i turned off the computer and forgot to turn off the monitor. I then went back, and plugged in the old one, and disabled it by right clicking on my computer, and mange, etc...I then shut down the computer again, plugged in the GTS 250 and connected the monitor, and have the same problem. When i turned the computer on, with the new card, i didnt get the startup sound after windows starts up. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Its connected in the PCI express slot (although my slot is purple, when they say it should be brown or white). Its REALLY annoying...i just want to be able to play starcraft 2!!!

Ok. Disregard previous problem. However, now I got it installed and working. I go to start up the starcraft Beta and it says that something else is using the 3d something and to close it, or the machine is locked. I had disabled my previous card already and drivers seem to be all up to date. I have no other programs running either. Any ideas?

You need to uninstall the old card from device manager, not just disable it. you also need to uninstall the drivers for the old card.

It is not showing up anymore, and seems to be gone. However, now the NEW problem is...I am getting very shotty graphics. Its leaves "dots" all over the screen when a menu pops up, and when i go into the settings, the numbers are scattered and the words are hard to read. I tried adjusting the settings, but it doesnt seem to help at all. Could it be my monitor? I have a Samsung SyncMaster 914V. I have an adapter that came with it, but i am using the standard blue connector. Its almost as if the card is too much for my computer? I have a Pentium D 3.4 and over 2 gigs of ram...?

What you are describing are symptoms of a faulty GPU. Time to get it replaced methinks. got the reciept or whatever from where you bought it?

I forgot...What is the GPU again? The graphics card? If so, i JUST bought the GTS 250 TODAY...:o Here is a link to my other thread, with what my PC consists of...

I dont know how to describe it. I defragged, i cc'ed...i did everything i can think of. Its not that the computer is slow, but as SOON as i start up Starcraft 2, it starts to load, then half way through it gives an error message. Let me see if i can get the message...

OK, here is the message i get...every time...until i press ok, then i have to press ctrl alt delete and kill starcraft 2...

"The NV4_disp display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."

That is word for word. I reboot, and the same bs goes through. i updated the drivers, and when i tried to make sure they were up to date again, it tried to download an update, froze up, and uninstalled my GTS 250.:confused::confused: I JUST WANT TO PLAY! Please help! :D

It's either bugged drivers or a faulty card. try using Driver Cleaner this once to clean out all nvidia GPU drivers. then download and install the new ones. if that does not work, then it is the gts 250 that is faulty.
