hi,

i have just bought a headset with microphone and plugged it into the usb port. its working fine. except that i already had speakers and a subwoofer coming out of the audio jack (the green one). now can i switch between using headphones and speaker? cos sometimes i wanna crank the music up on the speakers not on the headphones.
or do i have to unplug the usb headphones everytime i wanna play music not on the headphones?

cheers

any help appreciated

First off, why on earth did you get a USB head set when you could just use your line in on your sound card, or a front pannel with headphone and mic connections...

As for switching between them, I know no way right off. With a front connection as most computers have, when you plug something into the front jacks, it disables the rear ones. Seeing as this headset isn't on the soundcard, I don't know what you could do... I guess you could always rig something. Maybe have the speakers on a surge protector that you can flip off when you aren't using them. Or one of those older style ones where you had switches for different plugs on the back... Or perhaps you could run a headphone cable extention up to your desk and plug your speakers into that, then just unplug when your not useing them. Lots of little things you can do, really.

Actually i had the same problem, always having to swich between the both, don't ask me why though. But i do now that my dad bought a device at radioshack.futureshop one of those areas that you plug into the audio jack and supports more then one audio input. So when your listening to your headphones you turn off your speakers and nothing comes out, turn them on put your headphones down and you play from your speakers.
it does plug into the audio input though.one of them not the usb

sorry as to lack of knowledge.but that is the best i can do
