Help with malware.

Hey guys how's it goin'?
I got a Dell studio one touchscreen (never really use the touch, I turned it off) it has 4 gb of ram and a 500 gb harddrive with Intel core 2 duo and vista.

I got it in may and now it seems to be running alot slower than when I got it!
Befor internet pages loaded like that! Now I have to sit and wait a little while...say a page that loaded in 2 seconds now loads in one minute....at first I was downloading a bunch of IE add ons and stuff, then I downloaded firefox 3.5 and started to add a bunch of addons and buttons for the home page and stuff. I thought it was completly safe (is it?) and after a couple of days using firsfox I noticed it slowed down...then I created my own user account instead of using my fathers. and we have been using limewire (not the pro just the free one) and downloaded a bunch of music and then it really started to mess up. So I deleted my account and everything that was in it and it also deleted my all fathers favorites and and some music on his account. So I created a new account for me and it seemed to be better...But I still am having problems with the speed and I have a 15 month subscription with Mcafee but everytime I run a full scan or quick scan it doesent find anything! But I am finding some weird programs that have no digital sig. and some weird ass name? ever since I got this pc I have been really getting into learning about them and going through the programs and am really intrested in learning as much as I can. I'm not a geek but I want to be a geek when it comes to computers so I am probably going to be asking quite a bit of questions for learning purposes.
When I had a very old computer I called a boat anchor, I got a virus and I called windows ( it had xp) and they guided me through formating the hard drive and he had me download this anti malware bytes software that worked extremely good ( I think mcafee sucks personally...) It was a red icon and I cant find it anywhere on the net. If anyone here know what program I am talking about please let me know where to get it.

And does anyone know of some really good anti virus or malware scanners that are free and safe? please let me know and if you are very smart and know what rpograms shouldent be on my computer please let me know and i'll tell you the exact names and all the info of the program that seems to be malicious.

Sorry for the long post I just really like to learn and after learning just a tad bit of info a pc's I want to learn as much as I can!

Thanks for the help....I am going to look on my computer for the log thatthe maleware bytes found. It caught three trojans and it saved the log to my files. I'll post it up in a newe thread. I am not really into doing anything illegeal and I dont think I ever mentioned it so I have no clue why you mentioned that unles you were just warning mye for future reference. I appreciate it.

Thats no problem. I understand as I have been on other forums. I have a minor addiction to rc cars ( the real ones http://www.beatyourtruck.com/)
Anyway. I searched all over my comp. and couldent find the log file for the scan that I ran. Like I said, it found three trojans, and I am pretty sure I got rid of them.

But now my comp. seems like someone else is also in control!!!! Not all hardcore about it but my computer for instance opens programs I dont want it to...like when I am on ie, it'll switch to full screen mode on it's own, and certan web pages take forever to load or just wont load. Like right now, facebook has been loading since I have been typing. I opened it and waited about 1 min. (it usually takes about 2 sec.) and I opened a new tab to this place. and it is still loading. I just clicked on it and no images or text are on the page.
It does the same thing with other sites...just random ones.
Then I noticed my ie changed around? My comp. just seems to be acting a little funny. Can anybody give me any pointers?
I ran a mcafee( wich I think is a waste of money if you have windows defender, malware bytes and I guess avast wich I think I might try when I am done typing this)
But what do you think would bne my best bet to get rid of all these problems?

Would I be able to completly erase the harddrive and reload windows vista, I have the os cd that came with the comp.

Any ideas please?

P.S..Does anyone know of any other good computer websites? where I can learn? I am just amazed about the tiny bit of info. I learned since I got this comp. and I just want to keep learning! I am 19 and I can still make computers my future if I want. And I am just throwing this out there....but, ..how safe are porn sites ( hey! I am a 19 year old young man! You know you do too) hehe. Not the ones you give any info too, but by just going on them can your comp easly get a virus or get hacked if you dont download anything and just click on images or youporn.com?

To see the log for malwarebytes, you have to open the program and click on the logs tab and then find the log that you did recently if there is more than one listed and open it. Then copy and paste into a reply back here.

Wasn't trying to be a jerk, I just hate to see someone banned for something they didn't read. I've done it before...(Not on here) But yeah. :)
 
Thanks aviation man...i'll read it right now.

I already checked the maleware bytes log file and there was only one and it was the one I did last night and found nothing.
