Help with memory

As stated we'd need a specific model.

Also it's more of a 'suck less' than 'speed up' situation. When exhausting RAM on most systems you're just waiting on swap most of the time (which is slow as crap).
 
Expanding on what Beers said, adding more RAM will not magically speed up your computer. It will only help if you are currently hitting periods of time where all your available RAM is in use and the system starts needing to swapping parts of memory to disk. If you aren't currently consistently exhausting all available RAM then adding more won't do much, if anything, for you.
