Help With my Amd 64 3800+

I need help,my computer used to run at a constant 2.4 ghz with out any over clocking or anything.But today i had to reformat because i had a bad virus.So now my computer is at an unstable 1 ghz and moves up when i do stuff that requires more speed:mad: .So can anyone tell me how to get back to the constant 2.4 ghz with out overclocking?

PS:I have contacted AMD support and they were no help.

Never mind, I fixed it,but to all people with AMD's having this problem simply goto power options and goto always on.
)

Sounds like AMD "Cool 'n Quiet", which basically lowers the CPU speed to save power.

Go into your BIOS by pressing F2 or DEL when you turn the computer on, and look for an option similar to "Cool 'n Quiet", and disable it.
