For the most part your system is better than mine and mine runs great, only diffrence being I have 128MB video. Many things could be your issue.. did you already try the obvious solutions such as defrag, vrius scan, spy scan, ect?

There are a few things you could do. Before defragmenting the drive, I'd run a disk cleanup, then a disk check, then go and use the defragment tool two or three times. Also, a full virus/spyware scan never hurts either.

Disk Cleanup: Open 'My Computer', right-click 'C' Drive, then click 'Properties', then click 'Disk Cleanup'
Disk Check: See above, but after clicking Properties, click the second top tab labeled 'Tools', Select 'Error Checking', select both check boxes and OK. Restart the system. Depending on the speed of your HDD and how much information is on it, this can take a while. It makes progressive scans of your entire HDD, so each one tends to be slower than than the previous.
Disk Defragmentation: See above, but after clicking Tools, select the Defragmentation option instead of Error Checking. Defragmenting will take all the little bits of one file and put them all together, thus gaining access speed to the files. Depending on how fragmented the Drive is, this could take a while, too. It's best to make 2-3 passes, as each time after the initial pass, more condensing will take place. Anything over that and it won't matter.

However, even after all those things are done, you still may notice a slow system. That is because Windows will run slower and slower over time. It's 'normal' for the OS. Many people will do periodic fresh installations (once a year, once every 18 months) to ensure they always have the fastest system available.
