So I've recently just switched my things into another computer case and everything works fine but the onboard sound before everything the sound driver was installed and working perfectly but now it doesnt work and the driver is installed and everything has it has the main sound driver. Its the realtek ach850 on the k8n-e mobo with AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200 cpu. And the funny thing about the start up now it that there is a picture of asus k8n-eand in the bottom right hand corner it says run setup, but this only brings me to my bios settings which were already configured. Does anyone have any suggestions? if anything would i have to buy a new sound card? PLEASE HELP.. so lost and confused..i'm new with these computer things :mad::confused::mad::confused:

The best thing I can say is that your onboard audio may have died.

To find out, go to the control panel, switch the biew to classis, and go to sounds and audio devices, click on the audio tab and see if it finds your aduio device. If not, buy a sound card, and see if it works.

almost all or all motherboards will say to press one of the F# keys of the DEL key or something to enter bios when your computer starts up. This is how and when you get into your computers bios. Now for the audio, check the Device Manager (control panel > system > device manager) for any problems it might have listed, especially anything related to audio or perhaps chipset stuff.

When you first install new hardware you need to make sure to install any relevant drivers or software that the hardware uses.

everything is set up right all i did was switch cases and if stopped working it shows that its the main audio driver and stuff but if i get a sound card will anywork? or which could i get i was planning to go to frys to get one for cheap price
