Sadly most laptops (notebooks) are very limited on what you can upgrade. The processor is one component you cannot upgrade in a laptop to my knowledge. How you upgrade a laptop is buy a new laptop. If you are going to buy a new laptop look for one with a dual-core processor.

I did notice that you only have 512 megabytes of RAM in your specifications. Buying a 1 gigabyte module of RAM would speed up your laptop somewhat.

not true, the cpu in a laptop can be upgraded they have sockets just like ur desktops, u just have to find the socket, and the cpu support list for it, and then check around on google or ebay.

True, but the support lists are generally very direct. Whereas a desktop motherboard is built for, say S775, 400,566,667,800, and 1066 FSB, most laptop motherboards are built for a specific model. It's a good chance that his 1.5ghz Celeron M could be the 130nm Celeron M 340, or the 90nm Celeron M 370 - the latter have a much smaller vcore and double the L2, which would mean that, even though both are 400mhz fsb, the board may be specific to 130nm, or 90nm, or only 400mhz fsb chips, in which case you're only upgrade options are teh Celeron M 380 and 390 - 100mhz and 200mhz increase respectively, which hardly is worth the risk and money of taking apart the laptop.

yes but i was just saying its not impossible my T. Satelite had a 1.4ghz and i took it to 1.9 not a huge increase but i got the cpu for 50 from ebay.
