help!! with pwr?

k so this is wuts up. i just bought a whole bunch of computer parts(cpu,3d card, ram, hhd,cdrom, etc) there all compatible i know that. so i have i got all the power and ide'd connected . but the computer wont boot up, the motherboard(a8v-e se) shows that is getting power, but the fans dont turn on our nothing. i've connected all the case power scwtiches in every pin possible but it wont start up, any ideas or troubleshooting ideas, need more information?

You connected everything but the newer need for a four wire 12v to supply the AMD64 cpu plugged in near the cpu socket I bet?! Your system won't do anything without the extra feed now seen on the Socket 939 model boards. The board's manual or the Asus support site will provide intruction and even troubleshooting tips for this type of problem. http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/mailnew1.jsp?PAGE_TYPE=US&SITE=NA
Don't worry too much unless you received a bad board? That can happen unfortunately where someone known here received two defect boards in a row from one vendor. The third one received(simply a different model) has shown no indications of problems. The double check of all connections and even reseating memory, cpu, etc. will determine if you did get a defect or you missed something? Unfortunately DFI doesn't provide anywhere as near as much troubleshooting information as other brands like Asus do. But the link above can help for email support.

that website wont work, i'm not working with a DFI i am working with a asus
 
If your working with an Asus then check their site for troubleshooting problems and if nothing works then check to see if your board is defective.
