Help With Set-up

Hey, I have another question for you guys. I've assembled my build, http://www.computerforum.com/151658-help-noob-build-his-first-rig.html
and it posts and everything. I went into the BIOS, OC'd my processor to 3.0 ghz, and set up RAID 0. Then I tried to finish booting (without an OS) and my computer tried to "boot from disk," failed, and is saying "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

I tried inserting the utilities disk that came with my mobo AND a DVD of windows 7 into my optical drive, and neither of them work.

A couple of potential problem points:
My optical drive is from an old Vaio. I wired it up, and it opens and closes fine, so it's doubtful that anything's wrong with it.

*Something* is making a noise when it spins up. It tries to spin up when my computer tries to boot, makes a horrendous noise for about half of a second, then stops. It *could* be my CD drive, but I can't think of any reason why.

When I burned the Windows 7 disk, I didn't use any 3rd party utilities like Roxio or anything, I just used the utility that came with Vista. Looked at the disk and it looks like it has about 3 Gb written on it, which is good. Is there any way I could have incorrectly burned the .ISO?

I'm using the 64 bit version of Windows 7, and I'm not positive if my mobo recognizes it.

I'm stumped on this one. Is there anything that I can do to make it work, or is it best to just wait for my good optical drive coming in the mail?

Thanks!
Volt

if its not reading any disks besides the windows 7 i would guess that its the optical drive and it'll probably arive soon so i would fret to much. when does it come in?

I don't know if it's reading anything else, but it's not doing anything other than giving me that message when I put them in... idk if it's reading anything at all.

By "system disk" it means the OS, right?

Just tried with a new burner, it's still not working. Reburning Windows 7 now.

Okay, I got it to work. I'm trying to install Windows 7, but it's not letting me because something needs a driver for my hard drive. I have 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB drives, and I haven't turned on my RAID yet, and I don't care if the data is striped as long as I can easily turn on RAID afterwards. The big problem is that I tried looking at the WD website, but the drivers for my HDD aren't avaliable... I even downloaded their bloated suite thing and mounted it on a virtual drive to look and see if there are drivers on it; there weren't.

What should I do? Can someone please walk me through the install process? All my hardware is in order btw, it's just the software/BIOS configuration that I don't get.

P.S. Sorry about triple-posting, but I feel like this is a totally seperate idea worthy of a new post.

You MUST install the RAID drivers at install and set it up at that point.

You cannot install the OS on a single drive and just "turn RAID on".

Okay, I'll set the RAID up, and then what should I do about the driver trouble?

Edit: My motherboard manual's instructions on how to reach the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Option ROM Utility are messed up... any hints?
