help with strange problem

for the past month or so, everytime i turn my computer on, the first time it starts, it automatically restarts, like shuts down then starts up again, it only does it the very first time i turn it on, after that it runs fine, any suggestions????

sounds like a peculiar problem that would only happen to me. has it always done this, since your OS was first installed? which OS are you running?

i believe xp has something as where there is an error within the os that is restarts by itself. If you go the to the advance setting at startup and disable automatic restart when error, it will tell you what is causing the restart or the error.Hope this helps.

Did you mean, after windows loads, or right after you push the power button? I have a system that starts for about a second, then shuts down and after about one more second, finally starts up again by itself.
