Hi everyone. Nice forum! (^^)b

I'm thinking about buying a real video card for my computer, and I have some questions.

First of all, this is the video card I think I want and my computer

I haven't touched it, so it still has everything that comes with it, including the integrated video card.

Mainly I wanna know if this card will work perfectly with my computer, if it wont have any issues with my mobo and if my power supply can handle it (I don't know their specs).

I also wanna know if this is a good choice, I want something in the 100-200 dls range and I'm sticking with EVGA because I've always had their cards and they have never failed on me drastically. If anyone has other opinions please share them, I want to hear some alternatives.

Finally I wanna know how do I install it (if anyone has a good webpage about it, it would be great). I know I have to deactivate the integrated one somehow but I'm a complete noob at this.

Oh, one more thing, is using anti-static gloves safe? Like these

Or should I just use a wrist strap? I'll be building it on the carpet.

That's it I think. Thanks in advance. :)

Your mother board can, but most likely your power supply can't and no you don't need anti-static gloves for a video card unless you have too much static in your body

You don't need any anti-static equipment. All the wrist strap does is ground you to your computer case; you can do that by yourself. Just make sure you're touching the case while working on the computer. Static you collect will be released into the case and won't harm your parts.

Your box probably came with a poopy power supply (I didn't see it on the link). You'll need at least 400 watts, and I'm not sure, but you might need a 6-pin PCIe connector.

Your motherboard is fine, you just need a PCI express slot.

It comes with a driver CD. Windows will recognize it as a generic device (so you can see) while you install it. After you reboot Windows will recognize it for what it is.

Thanks for the replies!

I just realized that my PSU has only 300w, so which ones do you guys recommend me to buy? I want something good but not too expensive (about 50-100 dls)
