I am trying to get my little brother a computer to play games on and the one i have has a Nvidia Quadro FX580 card in it. The requirements for the the computer needed to play the game are "nividia gforce 7800 gt or ati radeon x 1950 pro or bettter" Will the card i have work? Thanks guys!!!

No those Quadro cards are only for graphic design, they won't play games. What game are you trying to play? Those are pretty low requirements, so any newer cheaper card will do just fine. What are the specs of the rest of the computer? You might have to upgrade your power supply as well.

BS. Have you ever used one?

Anyway, to answer the question, t should play it just fine. looks to be a DX10 version of the quadro with 32 cores, making it pretty much a GT8600 or maybe GT8400 with lower power and better open GL support. It will be slower locked though.
Having used laptop quadros for a while, I can tell you that they will game just fine. I use a NVS135m and FX2500m (~8400m GT and 7900m GTX) and they kick it gaming. Plus even with the recall and blocked up exhaust vent, the 135m will OC quite a bit above a 8400m GT on stock volts and maintain cool temps.

Sorry I meant to say they won't play games as well as a non-quadro card, that's what I read awhile ago. I'm a little out of it today.

in the same price range, no they won't. But they can match the cards they are based on if you overclock it a little. And they are meant for coolness, so should (at least going off the nvs135m) OC better because of it. But certainly not worth it since you could buy a 9800GX2 or the like for what you would have spent on that new. But if you have it now, it will do fine for that game.
