Help with WIndows Update

Im trying to download ZoneAlarm but when I try to install it, it says "You need to upgrade to Microsoft Windows Service PAck 1 (SP1) in order to install ZoneAlarm. Upgrading to SP1 is free." So I ran windows update and got an error "Code 80070570". I searched online to see how to fix this and I got this site

I downloaded the program and ran the scan, but when i press fix all it wants me to register, which costs money.

How do I fix this without having to spend money? It says its free...
 
What operating system are you using? I'm assuming vista?

Lets try reregistering some dll files.

Click on start, go to the search box and type each one of the lines separately and hit enter and then do the same for the next one.

RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuapi.dll

RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Wuaueng.dll

RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\atl.dll

RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wucltui.dll

RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll

Now retry accessing windows update.

If that don't work you can download SP1 separately.

Yes I'm using Vista

When I typed in this one "RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Wuaueng.dll" and pressed enter I got this message.

"The module "RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Wuaueng.dll" was loaded but the call to DLLRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005"

"RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\atl.dll" did the same but with error code 0x8002801c.

"RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wucltui.dll" failed to load.

"RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll" gave me this message again.

The module "RegSvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll" was loaded but the call to DLLRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005

So only one of them worked...
