Help, wrong cpu fan

I accidently purchased a Pentium 3 Heatsink and 50mm bearing fan for an athlon amd 2800+ processor, does anyone know if i could use it anyways as long as they are both socket A.

I'm not familiar with P3 HSFs, but if they are both the same Socket-type, I would imagine they would work. You'd have to make certain by looking at the Mother Board connections and make sure they match with the HSF brackets/pins/latch.

Agreed ^ , check to make sure you can power the fan, and lock the HS into place and all. GL
