I go do my weekly duties, clear cookies, files, and history. I do registry cleaner, and do disk cleanup. well after doing disk cleanup , which SUPPOSEDLY cleaned 188k of files, I ran it again, because it barely took a second. I did it again, same thing, the numbers keep on changing but nothings gests removed. Unless this is a Virus or seomthing this has gotten my stumped. I have restarted computres, ect. I do not have any backups or anything. reformat time?

Go to internet explorer and remove temp files that way, go to c: then windows and delete all the contents in the prefetch folder (this will remove any corrupt boot files which may have a disk cleanup in) run a chkdsk and then reboot and retry. Post back on your status after.

are you sure you check everything on the list during the disk cleanup?
because some times the default is that some items are not checked so when you run disk cleanup again it is still there.
